Travel diaries
A series of travel sketches from the sketchbook  “Greece 2017

“Travel Diaries” is a series of sketches that convey highlights, observations, and impressions from my travels around the world. The project commenced over five years ago when I embarked on a trip with a travel brush, a small watercolor palette, and a sketchbook. My aim was to capture and preserve the scent of the ocean, the sun-bleached pavements of narrow alleys, and memories of the leisurely lifestyle of the locals. Numerous sketches from various travels are dedicated to the architecture, the everyday life of the locals, and the daily life and traditions of different countries and nationalities. Through my perception, the peculiarities of each place are portrayed in each sketch. The project includes notes on Finland, Italy, France, Greece, the United States, and other destinations.

Now residing in Columbus, I have explored various charming historic neighborhoods that have preserved their distinct architectural style since the 19th century. Whether it's  German or Italian village, or the Victorian quarter, the pace slows down here, allowing one to savor the cozy ambiance of small European towns. Thus, my voyage around the world carries on, even though I haven't travelled outside the country yet. I frequently travel to parks and small towns surrounding Columbus, where I paint natural landscapes featuring lakes and rivers. I enjoy discovering new color schemes, especially given the richness of Ohio's palette, and finding fresh subject matter.
